On our preferred route, set off from Chicago and join I-90, following it east to Exit 142, where you will keep left to continue east on the I-80. Near North Jackson, Ohio, take Exit 218 to head southeast and remain on it until you reach Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Use Exit 344 to take I-676 across the city, then keep left to join the Vine Street Expressway. This will soon merge with the I-95, which you’ll follow north roughly 85 miles to Exit 14.


Now take I-78 east across the Newark Bay Bridge and through the Holland Tunnel to its eastern terminus in Lower Manhattan, New York City, NY to complete your Chicago to New York City road trip.
